Envy Studios
It’s easy to tell when you walk into Envy Studios on West King Street, that you going to have a enjoyable
time. Splashes of vibrant turquoise, a table of yummy treats and coffees, and plush couches put you in a cozy state relaxation.
“That’s one of the many goals that Envy works to create everyday.” says Stacey Steffes, owner and hair artist for Envy with 12+ years experience..
With only 8 weeks under their belt, Envy couldn’t be more excited and pleased by the positive response given by Lancaster City. I was lucky enough to snag time with three of the top artist for Envy: master make-up artist Lionel Adriano, premiere hair and make-up artist Rosa Rosas, and owner and master stylist Stacey Steffes.
As I interviewed the group I realized they were all close amongst each other; good friends that shared the same passion.
Stephanie for POSH Bridal: What would you say that Envy’s mantra is?
Steffes: Envy is about making each and every service a special experience. It’s easy to tell when you’ve really made someones day. When we’re working, that’s what we are always striving to achieve. I love people and this is not a place that caters to one kind of person and not the other.
SPB: Do you offer your services to brides and bridal parties?
Steffes: YES, absolutely! We’ve already done more than 30 brides and wedding parties this year.
SPB: Tell me more about what a bride can expect from Envy.
Steffes: Each bride is a beautiful canvas and at this particular moment in their lives, they embody the dreams of an unending love. I want a bride to come into Envy and relax, wash away their worries, and leave feeling as if they can do anything. That’s my goal.
Adriano: It’s so important to a woman, a bride, and in life of the feeling of putting the best “you” out there… I don’t just want to do the make-up, I want to be a part of making that bride shine.
SPB: Anything for the groom?
Rosas: The man can sometimes be over shadowed by the extra steps it takes to prepare a bride, but here at Envy we have the most amazing barber, David. Of course we will cut and style the grooms hair, but David is not just delivering a shave, he’s giving the client an experience. He’s unique in that he’s bringing back the old-school shave and delivering the most amazing closeness.
SPB: What are trends you are seeing for this bridal season?
Steffes: Romantic. It’s all about capturing that “feeling” they have inside. Today, bridal hair is looser, with soft waves.. Vintage is also a fun trend – that old Hollywood feel. We see a lot of brides coming in with birdcage hair pieces instead of a heavy veil. It’s always fun to design a hairstyle that incorporates a hairpiece!
Adriano: With make-up it’s a kiss of rose, earth-tone eyes, and capturing a natural glow and radiance. They are projecting this ultimate feeling of love, it’s about embracing it in a way that, in forty years, it won’t be easy for someone to pick up the era in time they got married. I strive for timeless- something that transcends through the generations and showcases them.
SPB: What’s an every day style that you’re currently into?
Steffes: It depends on my mood, but I’m mostly into modernizing the vintage looks of the past, like the 40′s and 50′s era.
Adriano: I’m currently a little obsessed with the 70′s. Think of Twiggy and Cher but more chic.
Envy is clearly a fresh new look for hair and make-up in Lancaster County. I found myself enjoying the team’s stories and harmonious blend of great personalities. As whole, they work together as team, proud of their craft and passionate for creating your personal vision.
As Stacey Steffes proudly declared, “It’s not about the dollar, it about the person, the memories, and the story.”
